io e te x frances savage

Our latest homeware collaboration with Frances Savage...

Frances is a slipware potter based at the Manchester Ceramic Collective. She loves to make pots that are joyful to use as part of everyday rituals to encourage a sense of comfort and warmth. Currently Frances is exploring the possibilities of low-fired terracotta slipware, drawing decorative inspiration from the traditions of British slipware and folklore, to create contemporary tableware. She is a great admirer of Medieval pottery and hopes to create friendly forms in an expressive manner with generous curves, slipped surfaces and playful handles. She is fascinated with people’s relationships to material objects and loves to leave traces of the maker on her pieces to encourage a dialogue with the user.

Her unique pieces and colour palette drew us to Frances, we love her unusual designs and use of low-fired terracotta, an earthenware clay that is 100% natural and eco friendly. It is mostly used in Italian ceramics which resonates with us, alongside it having a vintage aesthetic which coincides perfectly with La Collezione Cuore.
